Garmin Forerunner 265

Pros

• I would recommend the 265. It is on sale at Amazon for $299 vs the 165 which is $199 ($249 for the music version). 265 vs 165 gets you: * **Dual-band GPS** → more accurate in cities, woods, tall buildings * **Better heart-rate sensor**...
• I had the same hesitation as you, I ended up buying the 265. I use the touchscreen feature more often than I expected.
• I have the 265, and I love it.
• The bright display of the 265 and the rly good resolution is the biggest difference. ... If you dont have to worry about money, I'd take the 265, its great.
• Forerunner 265 might be a good entry level. At least it was for me

Cons

• I came from an MIP 645 Music, I've turned the touchscreen off on my 265.
• I have a 265, I came from a 645 Music. - You're spot on about the Training Readiness, it's alright but nothing amazing. - I enjoy the AMOLED, but I was good with MIP too.
• I'd suggest looking at the Forerunner 255, 265 and 570 and the 955 through 970; at the Instinct 2 and 3, and at the Fenix 7 if price is an object.
• Parent context: Do your research, Venu 4 has all the "serious about running" training feature that FR 265 has and more. Reply: It cant be serious with it's lack of 5 button interface and weighing that much more. Runners needs forerunner...
• Yeah I was considering 265 but the extra 100 euro put me off, plus I prefer buttons to touch screen
