Pros

  • Big group willing to sink time? Gloomhaven/Frosthaven or Fallout are my strongest recommendations
  • 'How it started: travel scrabble' to 'how it's going: frosthaven' is a hilarious escalation :D :D :D
  • Gloomhaven (which we actually just gave away to make room for Frosthaven)
  • I’ve played everything on this shelf except for Frosthaven (we’re wrapping up a Jaws of the Lion campaign soon)

Cons

  • We prefer Frosthaven more by a landslide (although I don't believe we've tried Gloomhaven 2e), but the 2p balance for both just feels so bad, and we're already bogged down in combat only controlling one character each. ... We would proba...
  • 6. Frosthaven, could be higher but I only remember the bad stuff vividly.
  • My frosthaven “preorder” was shipped 2.5 years after release lmao. And the only option to cancel was store credit which was a hard pass
  • We have a bit of a backlog, having just finished Frosthaven.
  • The only problem is once you're done with it, you have to get Frosthaven.

We prefer Frosthaven more by a landslide (although I don't believe we've tried Gloomhaven 2e), but the 2p balance for both just feels so bad, and we're already bogged down in combat only controlling one character each. ... We would probably support the developers by getting the digital version of Frosthaven instead of getting the physical, but afaik the digital version is still very buggy and not really worth playing right now

Frosthaven does have available playmat books too, if you want more of that experience (wanna buy mine lol?) but not the setup. It does however have the unbearable outpost phase.
