If you are open to suggestions, FoxyNotes is a very nice successor to ColorNote I think. All the same features, familiar layout, and a one time paid upgrade.

FoxyNotes is a completly offline notes app with the option to enable Google Drive. It supports manual and automatic backup and restore to Google Drive on but also Local Backups as a Zip file to your own device.
I never used Apple Notes but I got multiple reviews that are comparing FoxyNotes to Apple notes in a good way.
Google keep, FoxyNotes, QuillPad are others great for simpler note takers.
