Even outside of the bass, I don't think I could make a DCA sound as dynamic as an Audeze, a Focal, or a ZMF
If the headphones are bad they might make an audiable noise, but the newer models from brands such as Bose, Sennheiser, Sony, Focal etc. don't have that.
Yeah, you can't really count either Hifiman or Focal because they're basically both dead on arrival, you just don't know it yet. Both are bound to break eventually.
So this plastic cap that holds the cups in place broke yesterday, and after some research im only just realising how dogshit focal customer service is.
If you want an upgrade from the B&W, get the Focal. Both the Bathys and Bathys MG are a step up from the B&W.
This is why I have negative bias towards HiFiMan, Audeze with glued pads and Focal with basically no easy access to replacement parts here.
