No do not get... If it is the panel assembly that is gone it is so expensive to replace as to make the unit garbage.
There is an epson 5040ub for sale on market place but its showing a green vertical line 2/3s to the right of screen. ... Stay away. There is a very slim chance it can be solved by reseating the LCD ribbons, but in 99% of the times they are broken from the heat and the only fix is to replace the entire LCD block, with the prism and all.
I went from a w1070 to a 5040ub. Massive upgrade.
I went from an Optoma HD33 (which the reviews suggest is generally equivalent) to an Epson 5040UB and it was a huge difference in quality.
