I run my epson 1080 until I hit 5000 hours I run in ECO mode but when the bulb gets to 2000 or 3000 hours when you turn on the projector it has to run at full power for a few minutes to pressurize the bulb if not you get light flicker
An open box Epson 1080 will be perfect for you. Brand new retail is $500 and open box will Be less. That will get you an actual real-deal Epson projector that will not burn itself out.
