Honestly, the only thing that gave me long term relief was permanent hair removal. Nothing else with help because the ingrown and irritations due to the hair is unavoidable. If you can, I strongly recommend electrolysis. You will have to do at least 6-10 sessions to kill the hair root in each cycle. But it’s has been over 7 years for me and I pluck one errant hair every few months. No breakouts or irritation. My skin has completely healed since then and I’ve decreased the hyperpigmentation significantly since then. Good luck! Don’t despair!

Seconding electrolysis. I’ve had 4 treatments and almost all the hair is gone. I never could make a dent with the red marks, even with tretinoin, until I started electrolysis.
