ELAC is a well-regarded brand in the home theater community, known for delivering neutral, warm, and dynamic sound at accessible price points. Many users highlight the influence of designer Andrew Jones, noting that the speakers provide reference-quality performance and a forgiving sound profile. While generally praised for their value and receiver-friendly 6-ohm impedance, opinions are occasionally mixed, with some listeners finding the sound underwhelming compared to more clinical or high-clarity alternatives.
Pros
- Delivers reference-quality sound at accessible price points.
- Neutral soundstage with a warm and forgiving profile.
- 6-ohm philosophy allows for better dynamics without overstressing receivers.
- Strong performance in the sub-$1000 category.
- Highly recommended for center channel and 'end game' front-stage setups.
Cons

- Occasional stock availability issues for certain comparable models.
Caveats

I also second the Elac recommendation. I have that for my build and I love it!
Why Polk if you live in Germany? Look at Elac, Heco, Magnat, Canton.
Weird that it was all my Atmos (Polk OWM3) and none of my bed layer (ELAC) .
I’m a big fan of ELAC and Paradigm below $1000. Very neutral speakers with great soundstage.
The handful of times I've auditioned ELAC, I've been underwhelmed, to say the least...
Andrew Jones's designs deliver reference-quality sound at accessible prices. Their consistent 6-ohm philosophy means better dynamics without stressing your receiver.
The popular brands such as: ...Elac... All sound great, but different.
From what I understand the Elac will be a warmer and more forgiving while the Kef has more clarity and image precision. Preference I would think. I can understand why the elac would be the choice.
Elac, Polk reserve, and paradigm premiere would be options as well. Different voicing for each brand but all good.
A bunch of the comparable ELAC's seem out of stock (or very close) too.
