ECV

Pros

• My first was successfully flipped via ECV at 37 weeks.
• I'll add that my doctor had a very high success rate with ECV and I did receive a medication through an IV to relax the uterus prior to the attempt.
• I’m so glad it did the ECV. It was successful, and not painful. There was pressure but it was over quickly. I would recommend it to anyone that is offered it by their OB.

Cons

• If she didn’t flip I was going with a scheduled Csection because I wasn’t willing to risk doing an ECV.
• It can be an excellent tool, but just be sure to adequately consider the risks. If I were put in the position again, I think I would attempt an ECV again, but I would wait until 39 weeks for a first attempt with an epidural
• The ECV was unsuccessful and about an hour after leaving the hospital, I had heavy bleeding. I rushed back for an emergency c section due to a placental abruption caused by the ECV.
• Got the ecv - probably one of the worst and most painful experiences of my life. Did nothing.
• The ECV itself wasn't too bad and we decided to stop when it started getting painful and clearly wasn't working.
