Pros

• I have not, but I do use BIC pen caps on my Duplex instead of the stupid little metal rings in order hold the ends of the exo-poles in place.
• For a PCT thru-hike that extra pound of the Copper Spur will feel like five pounds by mile 500 - the Duplex is worth every penny when ur carrying it for 2600+ miles trust me.

• When set up as Zpacks recommends (120cm poles), in my experience the Plex tents are well designed to keep the interior dry.

Cons

• My experience with the Duplex was also that it was very easy to accidentally push on this or that spot and defeat the overhang, channeling water into the tent. I’m 6’ and was always a least a bit damp in the rain.
• If weight is the primary concern then obviously go with the Duplex. I would certainly practice setting it up before you go on trail as it can be a little finicky to get a good pitch. Once you got it down, it’s super quick to set up.
• I'm hiking with a partner that prefers an enclosed shelter, and therefore am carrying a Duplex for the both of us. With guylines, it's 18.7 oz
• I toss a tyvek inside and have my dog claw that up instead of my dyneema. I find their claws poke thru
• For the PCT, PNT and beyond, I have regularly used my Duplex (2019 model) for solo hikes. However, when I hike with my dog (border collie mix), I have always reverted back to my Lunar Solo for durability reasons.
