Duolingo Max

Pros

• If you have Max, the video calls also help not only listening, but also creating sentences in real time, and I think those also last like 5 minutes.
• If you have android just download and install the cracked APK which gives you Duolingo max
• I have an iPhone and ended up just getting max. We’ll see how it goes.
• Buddy up with a group of people to drop the price significantly! I’ve found it ridiculously useful.
• I like it - I really like the role play and calls with Lily because I’m not always comfortable/have opportunities to practice live and this gives me repetition.

Cons

• Yes, Max is the premium tier. It includes video calls and an AI explain your answer feature (for some languages.) I've heard mixed reviews.
• I have MAX and even I don't do those stupid videocalls with Lily, I actively skip them in the path too. Max has no benefit to me.
• Depends a lot on the language. For me with Japanese, it was completely hopeless. But a lot of people find it useful for Spanish.
• I still get regular annoying promos for Duolingo Max (which I did a trial of and would not recommend for Japanese.)
• The ads for Max are nowhere near as bad as ads for random spamware and junk products, but they are still an interruption that I paid not to have.
