Duolingo

Pros

• I also like to do some Duolingo for a few months before travelling somewhere so I get used to how the language sounds and feels.
• I’m currently just watching a lot of Spanish movies and learning from Duolingo and spanish emails from Phrase Cafe.
• We both spent a good 6+ months with Duolingo, Busuu, and Youtube videos to help us get acclimated.
• My wife who is using Duolingo for free immediately said no when I showed your app to her.
• This will be our first time visiting Japan; we don't know any Japanese (though I'm trying to pick up some basics on duolingo).

Cons

• I had started learning Japanese on Duolingo since my honeymoon ended. This is more than 2 years of Japanese input. As poor as it is for language learning, it still enabled me to read and speak rudimentary Japanese.
• So I had practice on Duolingo for about a month, but everything got mixed up once I was there lmao.
• He already uses DuoLingo, so daily tasks on his phone could be a viable option while he refuses therapy.
• I feel duped by duolingo. So far I've only learned Salve and ciao. Zero mention of buongiorno or buonasera.
• I used Duolingo for 2 months, I learned how to say water, milk and rice. ... Duolingo was I believe $15 usd a month to learn to say water, milk and rice.
