Pros
- For people interested in Ultros, I recommend buying [Dragonloop ]instead.
- Getting to the end of Dragonloop - what a game!!
- A chinese metroidvania that is dedicated to shattering chinese metroidvania stereotypes to pieces. This metroidvania focuses on escaping a timeloop and it features a 4 dimensional world where you can travel to when and where you want. It...
- Real talk though most of these are super solid and I even have Dragonloop in my S tier.
- However, should you reach the first bad ending, you will be rewarded with one of the most original and unique metroidvanias ever created, with lots of nonlinearity and a penchant for shattering chinese metroidvania stereotypes to pieces.
Cons
- I knew Dragonloop had a lot of potential to get better but I was pretty lukewarm on it. The music loop in the early game was grating on me too.
- Before you reach the first ending of this timeloop metroidvania, it feels like a really clunky low quality and poorly translated chinese metroidvania funneling you in a linear path. However, should you reach the first bad ending, you wil...
- about 2 hours in, and I like it a lot. Also, I really like its art, got an itch to draw smth too. But yeah, it has some problems with sound design, feels unfinished in this aspect. Gameplay is decent tho.

A chinese metroidvania that is dedicated to shattering chinese metroidvania stereotypes to pieces. This metroidvania focuses on escaping a timeloop and it features a 4 dimensional world where you can travel to when and where you want. It is also filled with highly original abilities and it is the first game ever made to feature a diagonal pogo.

On the steam deck I played and beat Dragonloop, which is a timeloop metroidvania and separately also one of the most original metroidvanias ever made. It is a hidden gem that has completely destroyed all Chinese metroidvania stereotypes except for the bad writing stereotype.

But chinese metroidvanias are the metroidvanias that usually offer the best price to length ratio. Afterimage? HAAK? Dragonloop? the HunterX games? They're all so cheap for their length.
