DF64V

Pros

• Alternatively, the df64V is quieter and more compact than the DF64 but more expensive.
• Yes the stock df64V burrs are good for both. Most good grinder (as these all are) can work well for espresso and filter.
• At $400, the CF64V could be another option to look at. Essentially same pros and cons as a DF64, but with vertical burrs and variable RPM.
• Quickmill pop up + df64v or df83v (or mazzer philos if you can stretch)

Cons

• Consider DF64, CF64V, and Timemore 064s as alternatives to Philos.
• I'm not a big fan of the horizontal burr lower-price DF offerings (DF54, DF64gen2, DF64V) because while they are terrific for their price point, there's lots of reports of them being a bit fussy with anti-clumping and static issues.
• The DF64V looks are best described as "regrettable".
• the CF64V is pretty much a no-go for me based on looks alone.
• The only concern I've read about the DF64V is some are reporting that you have to use RDT. Dunno how that strikes you. It sounds like the gen 2 chute improvement is a big win.
