DF64 Gen 2

I decided to go with a Bambino Plus with a DF64 gen 2 grinder. Swapped out the stock portafilter with a bottomless portafilter and it made a huge difference.

Parent context: I was about to get the DF64 g2 but I canceled last minute. I wasn’t sure about the mixed reviews of this grinder due to static issues and such. What are your impressions, so far? Reply: I'd say overall the retention is very low. I do not use RDT and on average I see 0g retention, although occasionally 0.1g. Pushing down on the bellows seems to be very effective. The only drawback is that it's loud, especially compared to my Fellow Ode Gen 2. But the fact it grinds so fast, it's not a drawback for purchasing it (in my opinion)

The DF64 Gen 2 is also incredibly good. It is loud (I expected that from other reviews) but overall I wouldn't change a thing. Retention is around 0.1g.

youre spending at least $400 to get a grinder that can truly grind for espresso, something along the lines of a df64 gen 2 on the cheaper end

DF64 most likely. I own a DF64 Gen 2 and paid 423 USD for it (converted from my local currency)

I have exact same setup and went from the BBE also. Loving the coffee and workflow. I still have the stock burs.

So far it's been great. I'll share a picture when I get a chance but compared to the Barista Express the coffee grounds appear really fluffy and I could notice the difference in dialing in the extraction (i.e. found it much easier get a 2:1 ratio consistently at the right pressure)

decided to go with the DF64 Gen 2 with the SSP HU Burrs and the Lelit Bianca. Only 1 days into using this already absolutely loving the workflow and the coffee it makes.
