Derby Extra

Pros

• For less than $10, you can buy a 100 pack of Derby Extra or Treet Platinum. Both are workable.
• The razor cut like butter and paired well with the Derby Extra.
• the most gentle/mild blades are the Derby Extra. They also last the longest and give me the best shaves. I always recommend beginners to start with Derby Extras. I have used hundreds of this blade and they have all been consistently good...
• Derby Extra - tried just once, not bad at all, not much sharp but quite durable, there are many factors playing their roles.
• I figured out I liked the Derby extra and Feathers the most. I usually stick with the Derbys since they are a bit more forgiving

Cons

• It could also be that a nice sharp blade like a BIC Chrome Platinum will take care of you in far fewer strokes than a Derby Extra.
• I just realized I should have used my Derby Extra as today’s match is a derby match…
• Definitely more mild than the Derby Premium, lasted 4 shaves before pulling, again very average. Required more pressure than normal. Some razor burn on the 4th shave.
• Parent context: The Bay Rum? Reply: No not the bay rum, the derby blade!
• First time trying the Derby Extra blade, which came as part of the razor blade sample pack I ordered from Razor Emporium. I’d say both blades have been “fine”.
