Pros

  • I mean, I vastly ***vastly*** prefer skiing at Alta and Deer Valley because there are no snowboarders.
  • I do both and DV has some of the best groomers and you can get some really solid pow days through the gates off Empire because all the pretentious pricks don't go there.
  • If you have the cash, Deer Valley. But you will have to pay big money for romantic on mountain lodging and ski lessons.
  • I do love how friendly everyone is over at DV. They clearly treat their employees well.
  • Deer Valley has that and more. It's also why they can afford to expand and have limited lines

Cons

  • Yup, skiing in deer valley and Alta are for pretentious pricks.
  • Anyways I skied for the first time in 16 years. I’ve been shocked how insane it feels on my knees compared to snowboarding and how terrible the slope etiquette is.
  • She and accomplices used stolen credit cards to buy full-price Ikon, Epic, and other ski/snowboard passes for Utah resorts (e.g., Deer Valley, Snowbird, Park City), then resold them at discounts via apps like Venmo and PayPal.
  • Isn't terrible expensive (NOT Deer Valley lol)
  • Parent context: The Bird is not a beginner friendly mountain. The other side of that coin is I could say DV is not an expert friendly mountain outside a couple of the shots in the Daly chutes. Reply: Ski resorts shouldn’t be ranked based...

Reply: Ski resorts shouldn’t be ranked based on how much they cater to the family from Minnesota that skis 3 days of a 5-day stay at an on-mountain hotel at a resort in the Rockies. The heaviest weight of the ranking should be, how good is the actual skiing.
