my personal distro of choice is debian 13 with the latest liquorix kernel installed, running KDE and it definitely games.
Debian 13, use KDE desktop for the Wayland security support. Kali Linux is a derivative of Debian, so starting to learn from here is a good point. If your main objective is security, Debian is your tank, it will take you wherever you want to, and you'll be safe.
