Pros

  • There is also the also the community spin with Cosmic. The Cosmic desktop a nice Gnome shell/desktop. It's pretty good.
  • if you like, you can also test the COSMIC spin. It's a third big desktop environment. It's a super exciting project. While it's still very young and a little immature, many people are already daily-driving it. It has the auto tiling of p...
  • The only full DE left that's actually good and not deprecated legacy is COSMIC. It has brilliant auto tiling.
  • COSMIC with cosmic-comp, which is already built as TWM, just with a complete desktop around it.
  • Budgie... But I'm running Cosmic currently.

Cons

  • I’d agree but Cosmic is still a bit wonky. ... I’d never use a beta product for my daily drive that school etc relies on.
  • COSMIC has worn me down: Chinese input randomly dies, panel/desktop crashes, displays glitch, memory pressure, something breaks every couple weeks. Done troubleshooting my own desktop.
  • If you plan to game on Linux I'd recommend not to use cosmic (popos) for now, but for general use it's mostly fine and a really good environment in my opinion.
  • cosmic, while being super exciting and promising isn't that. It's very new
  • POP! Has COSMIC which is still under work

if you like, you can also test the COSMIC spin. It's a third big desktop environment. It's a super exciting project. While it's still very young and a little immature, many people are already daily-driving it. It has the auto tiling of pop shell, but native in the compositor. It has the best tiling of all right now.

you’re more looking at DE rather than distro. Cosmic or KDE

Cosmic is great, but it's still like nowhere near the level of customization that KDE Plasma has to offer.
