Pros

  • Headlamp I recommend is Convoy H4 519a 4000K constant current driver. It’s right angle so you can use it handheld also. It is ultimate bargain under $30. I have 2 of them, one 3000K & one 4000K.
  • the Convoy H4 is so much better. I thought the spot plus flood mode would be nice to have but the brightness drops off too much. So I really only like the hi cri flood & the H4 519a beats the pants off of it.
  • I would go with H4 Nichia 519a 2700K for high cri or 1800K for warmer low cri. It comes with perfect 45 degree bead optic.
  • I have a convoy H4 with the B35AM 5700k and it's super nice. The 21700 battery does make it a bit heavy, perhaps, but I found the included convoy strap sufficient to keep it quite steady.
  • get an H4 with the B35AM in 4000k (maybe H2 - use those 18650's? B35AM isn't a very thirsty emitter).

Cons

  • Some Convoylight products cannot be used with the Keeppower INR 21700. This applies to the H4 and M21F that I own. ... The problem is that the inner diameter of the battery tube of the H4 and M21F is extremely narrow.
  • Ive decided to buy a convoy h4 with b35am 4500k... Perfect light for everything... 45$ cad with a 21700 battery The headband is cheap...thats the only cons

I have the H4 in the same setup. Absolutely love it and use it all the time.

I got a Convoy H4 on a whim when it first came out, with a B35AM in 4500K. It has become one of my most used work lights, and I don't even use it as a headlamp (although it weighs 10 grams less than the 18650-based HS21 when both are weighed with batteries in them!).

In fact, by adding Convoy H4 to the Alpine backpack shown in the image, you can use a total of three flashlights at the same time.
