Cicaplast B5
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
Cicaplast B5 is widely regarded as a 'holy grail' for sensitive skin, frequently used as a thick evening treatment or a targeted spot treatment to calm irritation and even out the complexion. While the original formula is highly praised for its ability to hydrate without leaving a residue, recent feedback is polarized due to a formula change (B5+), which some users find greasier and more prone to sitting on the skin's surface.
Pros
- Effectively evens out skin tone and calms redness
- Highly effective for sensitive skin and as a night-time treatment
- Versatile use as either a full-face layer or a spot treatment
- Pairs well with other products like snail mucin or occlusives
Cons
- Newer B5+ formula reported to leave a greasy residue
- B5+ version may feel less hydrating and 'sit' on the skin
- Potential to accentuate pores or cause breakouts for some users
Caveats
- Significant user dissatisfaction reported regarding the transition from the original B5 to the B5+ formula
- Possible allergic reactions mentioned by some users
Best for
- Sensitive skin
- Evening out complexion and calming irritation
- Night-time heavy moisturizing routines
Avoid if
- You are sensitive to greasy residues or heavy textures
- You specifically preferred the original formula and are wary of the B5+ change

What redditors said (10 of 10)
Cicaplast B5 obviously is a great one, but I prefer to use it methodically as a "spot treatment" of sorts.
Yes part of my evening routine is a think layer of cicaplast b5 over the top! Looks like the Aestura one is at Sephora near me so I will look into getting a sample - thank you!
Slathering on snail mucin followed by Cicaplast b5 leaves my skin so much more even the next morning, and it just gets better the more I do it.
You can but for future use you would get more benefit from cicaplast first then Vaseline
slapping on huge amounts of cicaplast b5 (which I love).
dieux instant angel OR cicaplast b5
I have very sensitive skin and my holy grails are Cicaplast B5 and Laroche Posay Lipikar Cream.
I prefer the B5 so I’m super disappointed the formula has changed. It made my skin feel so hydrated and also evened out my complexion so nicely in the colder months. And I have oily skin. What I loved about it: it was thick but left zero residue, it didn’t clog or accentuate my pores, I would wake up with such even and calm skin when using it before bed, when using it during the day it calmed my skin so much I didn’t need makeup or concealer.
The B5+ does not have the same effect and somehow makes my skin feel worse. What I don’t like about B5+: it leaves a greasy residue which doesn’t go well either my oily skin, it doesn’t feel as hydrating, it feels like it just sits on my skin versus sinking in like the B5, it accentuates my pores and might even be breaking me out.
I do the same thing before going bed but i also apply cicaplast b5 before moisturizer. ... Or maybe you’re allergic to the cicaplast baume
