Pros

  • I wouldn't go for any fish as the tank is a bit small , personally I would go for cherry shrimp, you can get all sorts of colors
  • Maybe some cherry shrimp in the color of your choosing too. I think that's a great setup for a 30l tank
  • Cherry shrimp and most snail species thrive in both hard and soft water.
  • Cherry shrimp are the most popular that you'll see. I personally have a very small colony of fire reds that live in my pleco tank.
  • I like the little cherry shrimp, but I don't want 100 and it seems that they breed quick.

Cons

  • Wait on the cherry shrimp as well
  • I already know I am going to add in cherry shrimp and snails of a variety I will decide later.
  • Cherry shrimp tbh are decorative only, very little help with algae.

Temperate water, I’d say cherry shrimp! They’re great fun, and if you get a mix of males and females, plus good conditions, you’ll be seeing baby shrimp.
