Caol Ila

Pros
- Caol Ila – clean, restrained peat
- There are some distilleries farther north that peat enthusiastically (Caol Ila, some Bruichladdie) but generally they're a bit more elegant and chill.
- My partner got into scotch with Caol Ila, which is among the peatiest!
- I feel more alcohol bite with Jameson than with Talisker Skye or Caol Ila
- The scotches I’ve tried here and there in my life have always appealed to me (Laphroaig, Caol Ila, Macallan, Lagavulin, JW Green Label, etc.).
Cons
- I know that Caol Ila is not his favourite 😂

With the exception of the Caol Ila I had last year, I've loved them all.
If you need peat at the expense of other things Caol Ila, Ardbeg or Laphroaig would meet your requirements!
Caol Ila and Lagavulin tend to invoke "warm smoke" associations, like a bonfire.
