Pros

• For $500-800, all of these seem great…
• I found the R to be a big step up from my previous DSLRs (90D, 800D), but the jump to the R7 was the 'magical' jump I had been expecting, despite the quirks with the R7 AF.
• It was a huge jump in quality when I went from my 6D to an R. I can shoot on the R at ISO12800 and only need to do some slight denoising. It becomes almost unusable at ISO51200 but you can sometimes pull some images out if you don't mind...
• Other than that, they are amazing cars!
• Someone offered me an R for the same price of the rp was selling. It didn't cost me anything to move up.

Cons

• I use my R almost every day, and while I love the results I can get with it, it still strikes me as an experimental camera release—or a rushed entry to the mirrorless market—and doesn't come close to giving a 5D4-like shooting experience...
• Parent context: The R will be just fine then. I use mine as a second body for concerts (with an R6ii). My only complaints with it is when I need to do video and deal with the 4k crop (or 30 minute recording limit if I want to put it on a...
• The R has a higher resolution, the R6 has much better AF, higher burst speed, IBIS, better low light performance and 2 card slots.
• R is a bit worse but still a lot of metal, even the dials
• And for the R, expect the whole engine to get seized, no joke. My cousin had a R, agency maintained, but for some reason one day, oil got mixed, and had to replace the engine. R are always a trouble.
