AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
CableMod is a highly recommended brand for custom power supply cables and adapters, valued for its extensive compatibility database and reputation for quality. While users frequently point to them as the go-to for specific PSU pinouts and 12v2x6 cables, some express frustration with high pricing and long lead times for shipping.
Pros
- High-quality custom cables and adapters
- Extensive and searchable PSU compatibility database
- Reputable company known to cover damage to components
- Offers custom-made solutions for specific or rare PSU models
Cons
- Can be expensive compared to standard replacements
- Long shipping and wait times (up to 2 months reported)
- Compatibility gaps exist for certain specific PSU models
Caveats
- Users must strictly verify their PSU model against the official compatibility list to avoid hardware damage
- Cable series (like 'E-series') are specific to certain PSU brands and are not universally interchangeable
Best for
- Custom PC builds requiring specific cable lengths or aesthetics
- Users needing reliable 12v2x6 cables for modern GPUs
- Replacing lost cables for major PSU brands like EVGA
Avoid if
- You need a replacement cable immediately and cannot wait for international shipping
- You are on a tight budget and prefer a basic, low-cost alternative
- Your PSU model is explicitly not supported on their compatibility page

cablemod uses the same E series cables for both G5 and GT, wouldnt this be okay no?
I found a company called CableMod that make cables for most brands of PSUs, so I checked their PSU compatibility page: https://cablemod.com/compatibility/
Check CableMod's cable compatibility list: [https://cablemod.com/compatibility/]
Otherwise you can look at getting custom cables from CableMod or the handful of custom cable makers on Etsy.
Otherwise an adapter from CableMod would be high quality.
Cablemod stuff isn't some magic that is somehow more compatible than someone else's cables. If they list all (almost, except a few series) EVGA cables as mutually compatible as "E-series", it's safe to assume that any cable listing compatibility with any of those PSUs is going to be fine.
I also tried looking on CableMod and they do not seem to offer cables compatible with this specific model of PSU.
I know I can buy a cable from Cablemod but trying to avoid waiting 2 months and paying $50 if I can do it easier/faster.
Cablemod or another reputable cable vender probably has longer 12v2x6 cables that would work
Check cablemod, if they can use the same cable series they are the same pinout
