Buzzkill is a highly praised Android notification manager designed to reduce distractions and eliminate notification clutter. Users consistently describe it as a powerful yet user-friendly alternative to complex automation tools like Tasker, offering granular control over how and when alerts appear.

Pros

  • Highly granular control over notifications, including muting, snoozing, and auto-dismissing.
  • User-friendly interface with a significantly lower learning curve than Tasker.
  • Effective at cleaning up messy notification centers and filtering out 'harassing' app alerts.
  • Allows for specific custom rules, such as muting repeat alerts or grouping notifications.

Caveats

  • The app is exclusive to Android, with users noting there is no equivalent available on iOS.
  • The evidence is older (median age ~399 days), which may impact the relevance of specific feature descriptions for this app.

Best for

  • Android users seeking to reduce phone distractions.
  • Users who find default system notification settings too limited.
  • People looking for a cleaner, simpler alternative to Tasker for notification automation.

Avoid if

  • You are an iOS user.
  • You are satisfied with your phone's native notification management.

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older, with a median source age of nearly 400 days, which is a significant duration for an app service.

Buzzkill - quickly customize different notifications. Simple to use and quite powerful. I used to be an avid Tasker user, but Buzzkill feels much cleaner for what it does.

just got Buzzkill. I really like it, allows you to set really specific custom rules for notifications. Has cut down on the more annoying notifications and also annoying notification behavior from some apps.

Buzzkill. Very handy on apps that doesn't let you customize what notifications to turn on and off.

Buzzkill lets you easily create rules that manage your notifications. It's dead simple to use and powerful. ... I highly recommend Buzzkill. We all have notifications that we either want to make more prominent or stop bugging us.
