Boss Katana

Something like the Fender Mustang, or a Boss Katana. I tell beginners to get a modeling amp because it allows them to learn about effects without having to spend a ton of money on pedals.

Not to say your Katana isn't nice. Those are super badass and I love having them at the teaching studio! I'd even take one out to a gig.

Boss Katana hands down. Its got variable power so you can scream at 50w, yell aggressively at 25w and 0.5w for headphones/output to interface. Got my mk2 for around $200 and i absolutely love it.

My playing got so much better when I switched from my first practice amp (Roland blues cube) to the Katana. No longer my first (or second) but I still have it and bring it to jam sessions. Had a huge impact on my development and a great gateway for pedals and modulation.

It is pretty hard to beat the Boss Katana as far as value for money?

For the most versatile use something like the Fender Mustang LT25 or a Boss Katana would do.

Alternatively you can also plug headphones into most new digital modelling amps (like boss katana and such) if you buy a cable adaptor

Boss katana. It has everything and does it all really good, it will allow you to find your sound, and allow you to decide what pedals and other sonic landscapes you like.
