Pros
- If no Kobo, I like BookFusion more (also cross platform sync)...
- If you have a lot of your own book files being able to throw them into an app like bookfusion so you can synchronize across devices and platforms is great…
- Check out Bookfusion and be sure to enable e-ink mode after installing from within the app. Settings-> Appearance -Enable E-ink.
- and check out the bookfusion app that also takes sync from calibre.
- I have loads of book files that I send to bookfusion app which works really well on BOOX.
Cons
- my only two issues that I have with it are extremely important to me: 1. Subscription based... 2. Issues with not syncing my Currently Reading: I am the type of person that I read multiple books at the same time... when I switched device...
- Consider a Boox device and run an app like BookFusion on it.

my only two issues that I have with it are extremely important to me: 1. Subscription based... 2. Issues with not syncing my Currently Reading: I am the type of person that I read multiple books at the same time... when I switched devices (from boox TMC to my phone) only book A showed. Book 4 was nowhere to be found

Bookfusion is a reading app and it will accept sync from calibre… If you have meta-data, tags, series information, etc. built into your books in calibre, that will come over into BF. And then BF will sync across devices (phone, tablet, eink device, web).
Bookfusion - cross platform sync, steady development, e-ink optimizations recently rolled out
BookFusion. You can upload all your books to it and also get synchronization between your phone and other versions of the app
Consider a Boox device and run an app like BookFusion on it.
