Amazon Kindle App

Pros

• If you have the same book on the kindle app and audible, not only can you play the audio file from the kindle app but it will also highlight the text you’re reading, as it’s narrated, and turn the pages for you. Kinda great!
• It's much quicker to do it via the Kindle app on IOS or Android and then sync across.
• Since it's Android you can still install Kindle app to get access to (what used to be) Comixology stuff (comics and manga)
• I like the Paperwhite for at home or travel, and the Kindle app on my phone for waiting rooms or quick sessions.
• I recently tried scrolling in the Kindle app, instead of page turns, just for testing purposes and with a speed-optimised refresh mode, it worked _surprisingly_ well - quite smooth and essentially no ghosting.

Cons

• you could just use the kindle app, and if you wanted a travel one, the kindle basic has the send to kindle function with the app so you dont need a computer to add epubs when you’re out.
• I use multiple ereaders, so if I take the book on using the pocketbook and couldn't read it via Kindle app, that's a deal breaker for me
• People report crashing of apps like the Kindle app.
• One issue I had with the kindle app on my phone is that it uninstalls or deloads books from it that I haven't read in a while. The book icon is still there but it wont open until I install the book again.
• I think that’s the issue with most of the ereader brands’ Android apps - none of them is going to be as full-featured and convenient as their physical reader, and they’re designed for phones & tablets, so there are going to be some thing...
