Bohnanza

Pros

• maybe you don't like that kind of games, but I like playing: bohnanza, scout, startups, skull, here to slay, spicy, and the like card games
• Bohnanza is ugly as sin, the rules booklet is kinda gross, and it is easily one of the best games I've picked up in a long while.
• I don't usually like trading/negotiation games, but this game delivers on it. It's all about hand management - you are obligated to plant beans on your turn, and you can't change the order of the cards in your hand.
• Bohnanza is my go to for a non-party game with up to 8 people.
• A lot of card games have aged well: Skat, 6 Nimmt, Bohnanza, Wizard

Cons

• There are trading and negotiation games, like Bohnanza and Cosmic Encounter... but you can't upgrade buildings, or expand your network/area in those.
• Hot take, but Bohnanza art is really a miss for me. It is very vintage (the game is old too) and I honestly hate it, I love the game but I find off off-putting.
• I will die on the hill that Bohnanza should be on big box shelves alongside UNO & Flip 7, but is held back by its hideous, aged art. Even tho it’s now nostalgic for me, this game gets groans from new player when I first pull it out. It j...
