I tried Blue Lizard years ago and don't remember if it burned my eyes or not, but I do remember it was really sticky and shiny, which I think was why I didn't repurchase it.
If it’s that greasy on you, I’d demote it to body sunscreen and move on.

I tried Blue Lizard on vacation recently and was generally impressed. I don't usually wear mineral sunscreens so I can't speak to the texture quality from an especially experienced perspective, but I can say that it never irritated my skin, even the more sensitive parts like my eyes and nasolabial folds, and make have actually soothed it. It never ran into my eyes and stung despite all the sweating and swimming.
I currently use Tatchas mineral sunscreen in spf 50 for my face and neck and then I've been using blue lizard for my body. However, blue lizard makes me feel greasy/sticky and tatcha is way too expensive to use on my arms and legs.
I use it as both face and body sunscreen, I still would not recommend it.
I wouldn't give this to my worst enemy.

The formula is much more of a creamy lotion consistency but the problem is it. does. not. dry. It stays on the skin and transfers easily to clothes and bags. The aloe vera is soothing but it makes your face oily. If you wear glasses, it will move around and stain your lenses. They settle into my fine lines, nasolabial fold, and around my nose. The smell is unbearable, it's like the scent of sunscreen mixed with crayons.
I would really like this sunscreen to be taken into a lab and have its SPF measured out like the Purito scandal or the Aussie Sunscreen controversy.
