Betaflight

Pros

• Yep Betaflight works with F450 and 2212 1000kv, it is the way more reliable than outdated apm 2.8!
• If you are just looking to learn about the basics of flight control I would suggest the Crazyflie or something closer to an [FPV quadcopter](https://www.getfpv.com/ready-to-fly-quadcopters.html?srsltid=AfmBOopbsfJvBexF0ay5rvv_tKwby7o4zbw...

• You can. FPV drone with a 3 axis gimbal running betaflight 4.6 or inav
• Betaflight's a great way to kick off.

Cons

• Betaflight is used more for FPV drones, and doesn't have robust support for waypoint missions and the like.
• Designing a flight controller PCB is no easy feat, it requires a lot of attention to resource allocation, power supply, and ideally following some form of standardized guideline system, be it for Betaflight, Ardupilot or PX4.
• I’d go back to betaflight and make sure your modes are setup correctly on that aux channel, you may have flip flopped the ranges
• Inav has more tunes for craft that are outside the "3-5 inch racer/freestyle" paradigm and is probably better than Betaflight for such large experimental craft.
• You'll need to learn edgeTX, and BetaFlight, and how to solder.
