Bare Boxer and BV425 are light and cheap. If they’re big enough for your trip, they’re the way to go.
For people who will use bear can in Sierra, BV425 is not approved. I had one before returning it but rangers told me it is too short and black bear can hold it in mouth and walk away with it, and asked me to rent one.
I own two BV500s, which definitely isn’t UL or optimal. Considering selling one, and getting a small carbon one.
Although I think the BV500 can fit a *lot* more than my UDAP can.
