not sure if this app have face recognition, but AVES can Automatically scans offline photos in internal storage and groups them into folders/albums. https://github.com/deckerst/aves
Aves is by far the best gallery as it has a map view, powerful search, tagging and plays motion photos.
Aves Libre - photo gallery app with alot more info about photos than standard gallery has, and the ability to view Map of where photos were takrn and open 360° photos.
