Reddit take

Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • There’s just too much risk with skiing Telluride that doesn’t exist at, say, Aspen.
  • Super convenient between flights and the bus shuttle service * 4 different resorts to choose from each day * Will probably be around $1000 cheaper
  • Fav - aspen/snowbird
  • Both Aspen and Telluride have mogul camps that are excellent. I have taken both but prefer rhe camps at Aspen because they are 4 days instead of 3.
  • I believe next year the only resort the cover in Colorado was Aspen (which I also visited and was awesome, but CO may not make sense for a week trip on the collective).

Cons

  • Lift tickets are half the price of Whistler, Vail and Aspen.
  • 47 in Aspen, shits fucked
  • Aspen isn’t my vibe at all so give me Jackson Hole all day.
  • It’s Colorado though so definitely doesn’t get the big coastal dumps). Also sketchy intercontinental snowpack, if you ski backcountry.

Just upgrade the pass and go to deer valley or aspen. For what they want plus direct from nyc - everyone will be happier

My friends keep saying that since I've already done icey, steep, east coast greens that I'll enjoy the greens out west

Vail, Aspen and Steamboat are all terrific mountains for intermediates with good villages.
