Arc'teryx Houdini

Pros

• If you are, then just wear a Houdini or whatever and tape it up whenever it gets damaged. It would be like half the weight of an Alpine Start
• Also at a sieve-like 56 cfm I often missed the real wind breaking of my current gen Houdini.
• Definitely most waterproof and breathable of any GTX type laminate I’ve ever used, but not quite as breathable as a tightly woven windshirt (like my Houdini).
• Houdini works but are you happy wearing it on its own?

Cons

• There are lighter wind jackets than the Houdini.
• I’ve heard that the current Houdini is not very breathable, so I didn’t consider it.
• I can even tell the difference between the couple I have. One breathes better than other. I use a Houdini and a Veil (from Drop). They handle wind very differently.
• Parent context: After being a die hard Houdini user, bought an Airshell and I have not put the Houd back on once. Reply: Same, I switched from years old of Houdini to Kor this year and am very happy with the switch.
