Pros

  • Altreno has been so much more effective and doesn’t irritate my skin at all with daily use.
  • But switching to Altreno has been the best thing for my skin.
  • If you are still having problems at the 12-week mark with no improvement, I would switch to Altreno—a different prescription formulation of tretinoin. I never could tolerate my genetic tret—even at 0.025–and found that it had a pore-clog...
  • Altreno or aralzo would be ideal for melanated skin. They are exceptionally gentle on the skin.

Cons

  • My nose looks EXACTLY like yours and the reason I believe mine began is similar to your except I was using a retinoid called Altreno. I believe these are enlarged oil glands which are permanent without treatment.
  • I’ve tried tretinoin for 7 months and Altreno for 6 months, but both caused significant irritation without improving my acne.

If you are still having problems at the 12-week mark with no improvement, I would switch to Altreno—a different prescription formulation of tretinoin. I never could tolerate my genetic tret—even at 0.025–and found that it had a pore-clogger ingredient in it: isopropyl myristate. Once I switched, I’ve had zero issues.
