Alpine Linux

Pros

• It's a lightweight distros designed for things like being run as a vm, embedded devices, and other things. It can fit into <200MiB iirc. In short, it's perfect for a phone os
• Absolutely you can run Linux on it. Puppy or Alpine is the route I’d try first were it me.
• Also try other distros like alpine or nix os.
• I am currently in love with alpine. Text installer called setup-alpine. After that reboot and run setup-desktop. There it is. However, there are limitations and it needs containers and flatpaks to be useful.
• And like running or creating docker containers then Alpine would be great. It was designed for this

Cons

• Alpine is king of the hill when we are talking resource conservation. It started out as a thin foundation layer for containers. Using it as a full desktop requires some know-how and acceptance of a few limitations
