Pros
- The SFT36F in the Acebeam UC3A in cool white is much cleaner.
- this is definitely the brightest 10440 light I've used, it'll certainly beat similar sized lights like the Wuben G5 and Wurkkos HD03. The cost of that raw output is the light quality of the main emitters, shown in pic 16, icy cold but at...
- This flashlight seems pretty interesting. AAA is a weird choice, I usually prefer AA, but this one seems nice.
- Regulated driver in such small host is outstanding feature
- until now, the UC3A is my favourite EDC if I don't really need more than half an hour of light - my typical "take the dog out for 10-15 minutes before we go to bed" light.
Cons
- It seems like a pretty neat product, but the 10440 battery choice seems odd. There's just such a massive jump down from 14500 to 10440, it rarely seems worth it, especially on this light which isn't exactly super tiny.
- I have mixed thoughts on the pocket clip, I like the look of it and I'm glad they went for a black color on it as I love black accents on orange lights, but the screws that attach the clip to the light really interfere with pocket fabric
- I wanted to love it... The clip pretty much killed it for me. That, and the switches. If they released a v2 and fixed the orientation, the clip design, and added a momentary from lockout or something, I'd give it a go carrying it as my b...
- I think Acebeam is close to having a winner here, but a few usability issues keep me from recommending it as-is. ... The form factor is genuinely good. The removable USB-C rechargeable 10440 battery is useful. The magnet is handy. The ou...
- Mine could be faulty, although my contact said the replacement now has an updated UI. Sometimes it would start on medium and then smoothly ramp down to low, they reckoned it was a bug with the thermal regulation.

I wanted to love it... The clip pretty much killed it for me. That, and the switches. If they released a v2 and fixed the orientation, the clip design, and added a momentary from lockout or something, I'd give it a go carrying it as my backup/third EDC on person carry.
I think Acebeam is close to having a winner here, but a few usability issues keep me from recommending it as-is. ... The form factor is genuinely good. The removable USB-C rechargeable 10440 battery is useful. The magnet is handy. The output is enough for EDC. The RGB gradient mode is fun. But the clip orientation, protruding clip screws, extremely soft buttons, lack of RGB memory, and easy accidental activation hold it back.
Mine could be faulty, although my contact said the replacement now has an updated UI. Sometimes it would start on medium and then smoothly ramp down to low, they reckoned it was a bug with the thermal regulation.

This light feels like oversized overkill for a 10440.
