AI summary — not a quote

Zebralight is a highly respected brand within the flashlight community, frequently described as a "darling" for its focus on extreme efficiency, compact design, and rugged durability. Known for "bombproof" potted electronics, the brand is a top recommendation for high-stakes activities like caving. While the company is noted for being "particular" and slow to change its designs, its lights are praised for having some of the most efficient drivers available and a unique aesthetic, including a signature dark brown anodizing.

Pros

  • Highly efficient drivers (85-95%) providing excellent sustain and battery life
  • Rugged, potted electronics that are trusted for professional and life-critical use
  • Exceptional size-to-capacity ratio, often slimmer than competitors with similar batteries
  • Long-term durability with users reporting over a decade of trouble-free ownership

Cons

  • Strict battery fitment requirements; tubes often cannot accommodate longer or protected cells
  • Stock headlamp bands and holders are sometimes criticized as low-quality for the price point
  • Limited flexibility in design; the company is known for doing things "their own way" regardless of trends

Zebralight or Armytek would be a solid option.

Now I love flashlights and thanks to you I'll soon have a beautiful modded Zebralight (and also a Malkoff but that I bought on my side).

The Convoy S6 is a highly regarded, budget-friendly EDC flashlight praised for its impressive long-distance beam (throw) relative to its compact size. It is frequently highlighted as a top-tier value option that fits easily in a pocket while offering performance comparable to larger lights, especially when paired with emitters like the SFT40 or SFT-25R.

Pros

  • Excellent throw-to-size ratio for a pocketable 18650 light
  • Highly affordable and widely considered a top-tier value (A+ tier)
  • Versatile emitter options, including popular warm, high-CRI choices like the SFT40 3000K
  • Compact form factor suitable for everyday carry (EDC)

Cons

  • Lacks integrated charging; batteries must be charged externally
  • The concentrated beam profile may be too narrow for users needing wide-area illumination

Consider 18350 tubes, S6s are now my go-to light to attach on belt, unseen. Left - S6 stonewashed stainless steel, stainless steel stonewashed short tube, B35 AM 5700K - pure white light without any hint of other shades. Right - S6 black aluminium, copper short tube, SFT40 3000K - awesome little warm thrower.

Definitely recommend a short tube for the S6, really helps with the pocketability. It's pretty easy to get more performance out of a 18350 than the 14500s too

So happy I added an orange peel reflector to my sft25r 5000k S6 order. With smooth it was very close to my T6 which is my fav, but a bit off, bit more sharp on the edges. With orange peel it’s my fav beam now. Just nice and soft and still goes far

The S6 has a color temperature of 3500K and thanks to the OP reflector it produces a beautifully shaped spot with pleasant spill. It's more than usable indoors for short distances as well.
