I haven’t used one, but I recently noticed Sujata is the only brand that’s offering 9 yr comprehensive full product warranty. Every other brand is 2 yrs on the glass and 5 yrs on the burners at best. Sujata also has Sabaf valves and forged brass burners.

AI summary — not a quote

KitchenAid is widely regarded as a premier "Buy It For Life" brand, particularly for its stand mixers which are frequently cited for their extreme longevity, often lasting 20 to 40 years. While the brand is praised for its "workhorse" performance and superior build compared to budget competitors, there is a recurring community debate regarding the build quality of newer models versus vintage units. Despite some concerns over plastic components in modern iterations, it remains a top recommendation for home cooks who value durability and aesthetic consistency.

Pros

  • Exceptional durability with many units lasting several decades
  • Solid, heavy-duty performance described as a 'workhorse'
  • High value in refurbished or used models, which often feature higher wattage
  • Excellent for whipping and general baking tasks

Cons

  • Significant weight makes it difficult to move or store in deep cabinets
  • Reports of plastic gears in newer models potentially reducing lifespan compared to vintage versions
  • Direct shipping from the manufacturer may lack discrete packaging, potentially ruining gifts
  • High retail price for new, entry-level models

When I got my kids their Kitchen Aids, I found refurbished ones with over 600 Watts (much stronger than the 325 watt starter models) that were cheaper than the starter models. 20 years later and they’re all still going strong.

Kitchen aid has something, we found one on goodwill . Com and had to buy the glass from one place and the assembly from another. They are over $120 new. I got both pieces, with shipping for under $20. Just be patient and know your sizes, parts dont mix if i recall.

It arrived today in a normal box, completely ruining the surprise since my wife was the one who saw it on the porch. ... I bought direct from KitchenAid website.

Im not big on single function items or electronics (besides my vitamix and kitchenaid) but interested to hear about those as well if you believe they fit the bill.
