Spier & Mackay is a highly recommended brand within the Reddit menswear community, particularly for entry-level suits and high-quality essentials like Oxford Cloth Button Downs (OCBDs) and linen shirts. It is frequently praised for offering a superior price-to-quality ratio compared to traditional retailers, though its garments are known for a characteristically slim fit.

places like Spier and Mackay/SuitSupply have super mixed reviews
Spier & Mackay relaxed fit blazers look amazing and the price is great - unfortunately they usually do not offer size 38L for most items (only 40L+) and their warehouses are only located in US, meaning I would have to pay ~30% of the price for customs
I replaced all my suit supply suits with SM suits…measurably better quality and fit…
My initial distaste of S&M really boiled down more to fit, even though I initially attributed it to quality. ... If I could ever figure out how to get a good fit with spier and mackay, i'd do it again.
Let's not overstate the construction details of S&M. The shoulders are not that well made at all. The chest canvassing doesn't support a truly good roll on the 3-roll-2. The buttonholes are machined holes. Again, it's fine for the price point but these are more akin to counterfeit details rather than the real thing.

Asket sounds very up your alley. Not the cheapest, but good quality basics and imo the value is pretty good
If you want something nicer, Asket or Everlane.
Asket tees are great if you want that clean elevated fit and good longevity, they hold shape well and look smart under a shirt or on their own.
Asket's short sizes may be worth a look. Well-rounded offering of basics there that are a step up from the average mall brand.
Asket for $55 are great quality
