Sony SA-SW9 vs HSU VTF-TN1

The sw9 is a huge improvement over the sw5 as well, as I’ve had it for many years and 2 previous Sony systems.

Of all the soundbar subs, I think the best one right now is the SW9 from Sony. But that is expensive.

Simce upgrading to the new sw9, it’s just that much better. The Quads without a sub wouldn’t work just like most other systems if you took the sub away. Best system I’ve ever heard and owned and by a lot.

I’d recommend the SW9 first, as the surrounds would be great, but without a proper subwoofer, it’s not going to sound anywhere close to what it will, with the sub. Sub first for sure, imho.

Parent context: Get the new sw9s they are so good really immersive, if possible buy two of them and you won't regret it. Reply: Haha two might be out of budget but definitely feel excited to get that low frequency bass they claim it has, thanks

I’m basically an HSU fanboy (I own two VTF-15Hs and a VTF-2), and from a pure output / extension standpoint the TN1 wins.

tn1, not even close really. extends lower and the output is pretty significantly better.

Get a TN1-way more slam and lower extension. Sell the older subwoofer and evaluate if you want a second TN1.

I’ve got my eyes (& cart) set to an HSU VTF-TN1.

a single VTF‑TN1 is a strong upgrade in output/extension
