AI summary — not a quote

Magic Molecule is highly regarded on Reddit as an effective hypochlorous acid (HOCl) spray, primarily used to soothe compromised skin and reduce redness. Users frequently recommend it as a gentle, non-stinging antibacterial step in a skincare routine, often applying it after cleansing to help with irritation from actives like tretinoin or to manage breakouts without drying out the skin.

Pros

  • Effectively calms redness, inflammation, and skin reactivity.
  • Non-stinging and non-drying alternative to harsh antiseptics like alcohol.
  • Simple formula that dries quickly without a lingering smell.
  • Helps manage breakouts and bacterial growth on the skin and pillowcases.

Cons

  • Does not provide immediate 'magic' results for all skin conditions.
  • May be redundant for users who already have a preferred hypochlorous acid spray.

I’m keeping it clean, using Magic Molecule and switching out hydrocolloid patches every few hours.

Magic Molecule is my go to brand but Tower 28 is great too. it’s not too expensive and dries down quickly without any smell.

I use magic molecule when my skin gets like that. It’s hypochlorous acid, and it helps calm everything down and keeps the skin balanced. It also helps with breakouts in a more low-key way since it keeps bacteria in check. I like it because it’s simple and doesn’t add another heavy layer

There’s a product at Target that’s cheap and changed my life. It’s called Magic Molecule. You can spray it all over your face after you wash, and then put lotion on top. It’s a hypochlorous acid spray and does amazing things for compromised skin.

One of the things that's helping me is spraying Avene thermal water on my face in between steps, I wash my face and leave it slightly damp, spray, essence, serum, spray again, then immediately lock it in with an occlusive.

Then I apply Aestura 365 Lotion to damp skin (I usually spritz Avene Thermal Water). Wait for that to absorb before applying Bondi Sands Hydra Face Fluid SPF50. I then spritz again with Avene Thermal Water before applying make up (Bellapierre mineral powder).

I’ve done something along those lines albeit for a wildly different autoimmune condition with skin involvement, although if memory serves I did make occasional use of spritzes of avene thermal water and “washed” my face every so often with colloidal/super finely ground oatmeal (just bc that was the least irritating thing I could think of + I wanted some means of very gentle exfoliation to avoid dermatitis neglecta or things along those lines). No great rationale for the thermal water, it just felt nice and also seemed highly unlikely to be irritating.
