Bergamo is actually a fantastic choice for a day — the Citta Alta (upper city) is stunning and much less crowded than Como in May. You can walk the Venetian walls, check out Piazza Vecchia, and grab some polenta dishes without the tourist rush.
Bergamo! It is a hike just to go from bassa citta to alta citta but man! The town is beautiful.
The food was all excellent, everything fresh, good quality. Didn't have a bad meal the whole time we were there. Even takeaway sandwiches were fabulous.
