Also, as a general suggestion, look for accommodation in Bohinj instead of Bled and Cavtat instead of Dubrovnik. Way easier on the huge crowds and equally huge prices.

You could easily do 10-14 days just in Slovenia. Ljubljana as a base, day trips to Bled and Bohinj, few days in the Soča Valley, maybe Piran on the coast if you want something different.

Alternatively, I can recommend Poland. Krakow, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Warsaw, Lodz, and Poznan are all truly beautiful cities.
Another option is Gdansk which is on the north coast of Poland. Look up some pictures as it is an absolutely beautiful city. Also has a lot of history and if you go, the WWII museum is a must. Also a day trip to Marlbork is recommended.
Gdansk is similar in cost, great history and coast, plus an easy Malbork day trip.
Gdansk is stunning but not a lot of brits go.
