I love Eileen Fisher, but their pants I think at cheapest are $168 each (but lots are on sale for less!!) They are comfy, good quality, sustainable, and the way theyre designed is so they can shift with your body a bit (aka if you gain or lose weight, they wont suddenly not fit, they are great for flexibility).

Eileen Fisher. The clothing is expensive, but timeless and made with natural fabrics.

Though, brands like Eileen Fisher, Sèzane, Dôen, etc. are more likely to have better materials.

AI summary — not a quote

Old Navy is widely regarded as a go-to brand for affordable basics, maternity wear, and specialized sizing like tall and long inseams. While it is praised for its value and specific items like cotton sweaters and linen blends, users frequently note trade-offs in fabric durability and sizing consistency.

Pros

  • Excellent value for budget-conscious shoppers, especially during sales.
  • Strong selection of tall, long-inseam, and maternity sizes.
  • Reliable source for workwear basics and athletic gear.
  • Good entry-level brand for testing new styles before investing in premium pieces.

Cons

  • Inconsistent fabric quality; some items like joggers are reported as very thin.
  • Susceptibility to shrinkage after washing, particularly with shirts.
  • Sizing issues in specific lines, such as curvy or postpartum denim where waist-to-thigh ratios may not fit well.
  • Style palette is often described as limited to boring or neutral colors.

My favorite sweaters in the last few years have been from… Old Navy! I recently got a 100% cotton oversized cardigan from them and as I’m traveling in the southern hemisphere (it’s winter here) I’ve worn it almost every day this month. It’s washed well.

Old Navy. I love their basics and the fact that they have petite sizing!

Old Old Navy is SO good. I have a 100% cotton ON denim button down dress I thrifted with hidden buttons to ensure no gapping at the top. With pockets!! They just don’t make them like they used to.
