The Canon EOS R10 is highly regarded as a versatile and capable APS-C mirrorless camera, frequently described as a 'major upgrade' for those moving from older DSLRs or entry-level models like the R100. It is particularly praised for its advanced autofocus system, which users compare to 'alien technology' for its ability to track fast-moving subjects like birds and vehicles. While compact enough for travel, it maintains professional-leaning ergonomics including a deep grip, dedicated joystick, and dual control dials.

Pros

  • Exceptional autofocus and subject tracking, even outperforming some older pro-level DSLRs.
  • High burst shooting speeds (up to 15fps mechanical and 23fps electronic).
  • Excellent ergonomics for its size, featuring a deep grip and tactile controls like a joystick.
  • Highly portable and lightweight, making it a favorite for 'one-bag' travel and street photography.

Cons

  • The buffer fills up quickly during high-speed bursts, which can be frustrating for wildlife photography.
  • Low-light performance can result in significant grain at high ISO settings (e.g., 12800).
  • Using the electronic shutter or high-speed burst mode (H+) reportedly reduces color depth to 12-bit.
  • The compact body size may make finding a flush-fitting battery grip difficult.

Well, I have the R10 and love it, low light performance is great for what I do, resolution and autofocus are pretty good, I get access to both full frame and crop lenses without losing resolution, I basically have a 1.6x included teleconverter and most importantly I get up to 15fps bursts with mechanical/efcs or 23fps electronic shutter.

I have switched from the 600D to an R10 and it's just so cool, 18MP to 24MP, 3.7FPS to 15FPS, 9 points to 600+ autofocus, it's an improvement in so many ways...

R10 is a great cam and super quick and got lots of great features. You won't be disappointed esp if it's your first step into the world of cameras.

Yeah it's slightly underrated imo packing better features than an R8 except the sensor.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is widely considered one of the greatest professional DSLRs ever produced. Even as the industry shifts toward mirrorless systems, it remains a highly respected workhorse for professional portrait and wedding photography due to its rugged build, reliable performance, and excellent image quality.

Pros

  • Exceptional image quality and color science in both RAW and JPEG
  • Extremely durable and rugged professional build
  • Proven reliability for high-stakes event and wedding photography
  • Excellent value on the used market compared to modern mirrorless equivalents

Cons

  • Autofocus system is significantly less advanced than modern mirrorless eye-tracking
  • Video performance is surpassed by newer, more affordable mirrorless bodies like the EOS RP
  • Heavier and bulkier than modern mirrorless alternatives
  • Incremental improvement over the 5D Mark III rather than a revolutionary leap

5Ds is a better camera, better file, though today I'd opt for a 5Div.

It’s probably the greatest professional 35mm DSLR to ever be produced, and since the world has gone mirrorless, it will likely hold that title forever.

Mark iv is a great camera but everything has gone mirrorless now. It doesn’t diminish the value of the Mark iv or its ability to get work done

I bought mine in 2015 and used it a *lot* until my 5D Mark IV all but replaced it in late 2019.
