If you want to be able to play aaaaand record you need a Yamaha, Kawaii, Baldwin or one of the premium brands like Steinway etc
In our bedroom nook I have my childhood Baldwin, which I painted to match.
Try some of the eastern European brands & older Baldwin's (I have a soft spot for them).

They did have a Yamaha C3 from 1981 that I quite enjoyed, but I found it difficult to be able to say that it was certainly better than all the others I tried (a few Kawais, a Baldwin, a Yamaha G3).
