In Armenia, the mountains become taller and snowier, the rural areas sparser. But Yerevan surprised me for being a very modern city that would have been difficult to place on a map had I not known where I was. In contrast to Tbilisi's variety of architecture and general vibes, Yerevan felt very new - almost everything seemed to have been built within the past 50 years and, despite its geographical proximity to the Iranian border, felt very much like a European capital.

Awesome, I wish more people would travel to Armenia. I totally agree about the modern European feel; I was shocked when I stepped foot in Yerevan. A very underrated city. I would highly recommend spending more time there and going to other cities like Dilijan.
